2x roosters, neither are crowing! 🤔

Hi all!

I have an existing flock of hens that are over 1 year old. I added six chicks this summer, 4 hens and 2 roosters to my flock of 18 grown hens.

They have integrated very well and are part of the flock!

I have 2 roosters, a Jersey Giant and a Barred Rock that are about 16 weeks old and neither are crowing.

I am wondering why they aren’t crowing yet? They seem very happy and healthy. No signs of health problems or anything.

Thoughts?

some roosters take a while. I have 5 right now. Some were early crowers, some were nearly full grown before they found their voice. You’ll get A few laughs out of hearing the, learn.

They may be intimidated by the older/likely more dominant hens. Some roosters also just take longer to start
