If My Coop Is Predator Safe And I'm In A Super-warm Climate, Can I Put My Babies Outside In Their Coop From The Start?

i wouldn't.... i would start out with a brooder. temps fluctuate at night, and they really need a constant temperature.

You're lucky you live in a warm climate - but I'd wait for your little babies to have longer feathers before letting them experience temp fluctuations.

I put my babies directly into our empty coop, but I build a box in there with a light over it. Basically, I had a brooder in my coop. Be careful to hang the light securely. Those 100 w. light bulbs can start fires if they fall into the bedding.

When my chicks were about a week old I would remove the front to the brooder pen (it was just a bail of wood chips) and let them walk around in the coop during the day. At night they all went back under the light.
