3 chicken newbie

hi everyone,
i have 3 hens,
i think they were about 2 months old when i bought them, so that makes them about 5 and a half months old now
from what I have read, I believe they have started to molt.....
but I am concerned because they are so young.....
is this normal????

younger birds can go though mini molts. if they are acting pretty normal I wouldn't be worried.

from nh! chickens molt in the fall whatever age they are. the colder wheather triggers it. they should be fine. what breeds do you have?

from VA. From the little I know it sounds like they can molt at various ages, the earlier molts seem to be lighter molts. Try a search on this site, it has been a useful tool for me!

I have no idea what breed they are.....

...lol

and they are acting as normal.......well.....as close to normal that chickens get!!

....

I must say that it has really surprised me.....keeping chickens.....I never expected to enjoy them so much.....and also how fond of them I have become.....
but it would be nice to have some eggs tho.......
