3 Chickens lost in 3 days!!!

From what I gained from the beginning post is that if the loses occurred in daylight it is likely a hawk, if the loses occurred after dark a varmint like a possum is likely responsible. The catch is that we don't know the age and size of the killed birds, but by them hiding in the coop and one hen taking a powder by hiding out somewhere else I will say that you are dealing with a hawk. There is also the possibility that a hawk lets' say made the first kill and some other varmint scavenged the body.

I vote coon, coyote, or fox.. Opossums don't have the kind of teeth to tear flesh like that leaving mutilated carcass. Also leaving half food, I would say young fox or coyote.
Racoon takes his meal home, also probably plenty of scraps and trash around to give coon a meal for 1/67 the work.

I doubt it's a hawk as they pluck the feathers off before eating, and you said the feathers were still intact on the one bird. But that leaves a whole host of ground predators. My guess is raccoon but that's just a guess. You need to check the coop and double check it to make sure there is no way a predator can get inside. Also, lock it tight and make sure there is no way that a raccoon can get it open. They are very skilled at that. You may want to build a run or get electrified fencing but in the meantime it is a good idea to keep the hens in the coop for a while unless you can watch them. Whatever took the two birds will be back.
