So I rescued a chick (named her Sugar) who was only one day old. She (seems like a female, not actually sure yet) was fine on Thursday morning but about 5 hours later Sugar then started to hold her leg up and tucked into her and is now hopping on one leg. Sugar gets tired very easily so she doesn't eat much, but drinks plenty of water. Her leg isn't swollen or red or out to the side. She just holds it up and tucked in, but will NOT use it. I don't want to do a splint cause everyone I've asked who has splint a chick leg, the leg has died. It shows no signs of being even hurt besides her tiny claws, she can't grip. We do physical therapy and I get her to stretch her "leggy" and "toes". She likes when I say it in a baby voice and she actually let's me do it .. Anyway my question is what can I get her to eat for the nutrition cause she does NOT care for the chick starters I got her. Yes Sugar is SPOILED ROTTEN we've tried 3 kinds and she says no every time! Please give me portions and when to feed as well, I'm a first time mommy...

Can you find any redness, swelling, or green bruising on the sore leg? A picture of her standing might help. Resting the leg for a few days and reevaluating the leg to see if she needs to rest it more would be helpful. Hopefully, it is just a sprain.

That's what I'm thinking it is because there is nothing wrong with it to the naked eye. Not swollen, red, green, nothing... She's not picking at it so no mites... I'm hoping it will heal soon 🙏
