Hi there,
First time posting here. I know Buff Orphingtons are notoriously hard to sex, and I'm an amateur so I was hoping to get some help... Looking at three different birds and was hoping to get some advice as to which ones are pullets...
Thanks so much!

How old are they? I'm not sure on breed but those don't look like Buff Orpingtons to me because of their pattern.
I think 3 months. I was also curious because the 'barred' feathers, plus some black. I assume there is something else in there.
I'm looking to add to my flock, so these birds aren't mine (yet) :)

Thanks! My inkling was that the second one was a pullet, but I'm a newbie.

Well the photos aren't really clear, but on the second one I don't see any indication of cockerel hackle or saddle feathers. (I think these would be coming in by now). Whereas on the third, I think I see pointed hackle feathers?

Any possibility you can get some better pictures? Do you know what the comb of that third bird is (looks single but not sure)?

unfortunately those were the best of the photos available. These birds are a couple of towns over. But thanks for the effort!

Yeah, pictures are not great. First one looks like maybe your cockerel, Second one pullet. Third is really hard to tell, but I would lean towards cockerel based on how red the comb is, but it doesn't look too big. Take the predictions with a grain of salt though. They are not buff orpington being that they look to be barred. They are a mix.
