Hi, I have just gotten 3 pullets- picture below. Big girl is Ameraucauna, medium is ????? (so if you've got any ideas do tell), and tiny is a partridge rock (but not entirely sure I trust the expertise of the person I got it from).
Anyway, just beginning this adventure- built a coop out of mostly scrap lumber (luckily our neighbors removed a small porch roof- perfecto!). I have a kindergartener and a 2.5 year old and they are super duper excited. Though I'm in San Diego now, I was raised in the midwest and am afraid of having kids who don't understand where food comes from.
I have a lot of newbie questions, but I'm finding lots of answers by searching here. Thanks!
