3 NEW HENS

Hi everyone,
So Yesterday i picked up 1 light sussex hen and 2 rhode rock hens.
Today i let them out to run free range and the light sussex hen has disappeared.
where is she?????????????

She doesn't know where home is yet. Are these the only ones you have or are they an addition to an existing flock? To teach them this is their new home keep them locked up for a few days. They have all summer to free range so a few days "indoors" isn't a big deal. Actually good for them. It's education time.

Maybe she'll come back when it's feeding time. They do have to spend time in a coop as Cryss has told you, so they imprint on that being home. I hope a predator didn't find your hen.

I agree with Cryss and drumstick diva...they have to know where 'home' is to find their way back to it.

If you have any neighbors around, check with them. Also, she could have roosted in a tree overnight.

No, she didn't come back
The rest are ok thank goodness.

I've checked with my neighbors they didn't have her but they had one of my other chickens
