3 wall chicken coop in the winter.

Hello, I am in CT and my chickens did great last night in 6°f with 30mph gusts. The coop has no solid wall on the south side and they made it with no frost bite or issues. No heater just an electric waterbowl. I had my concerns during planning and construction but it all worked out. Anyone thinking of this type of coop should not be concerned within these parameters. More north and more cold I cannot vouche for. Chickens 4 Life!

Thank you for the welcome! I converted a free playscape with other salvaged wood and hardware. I only purchased roofing material and the nestbox. It took me a while to design, there are 2 levels, and it is my second coop build. This should last me a while. I have 7 ladies in there and they are happy and cozy. there is a door on the other side for access to the yard. I love chickens. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
