3 week old chicks

i have for three week old chicks. This is my first ever hatch so im still learning. The chicks are growing out of the brooder so my friend offered me a rabbit hutch to put in my shed with a heat lamp. The only problem is that it has been outside for quite long and i think it has bugs under the felt should i buy a new hutch or use this one and treat it ? thanks

Use it. The chicks are only in the brooder until they are 6 weeks old, so it isn't likely worth it to build anything. Bugs under it? Chickens love bugs.

Seriously, it is such a short time before they head to the coop, I'd take your neighbor's offer.

For mites you can use sevin dust to get rid of any mites

ok i think i will treat just in case. Can mites cause a lot of damage to young chicks ?
