OK .... I have an interesting deal going on .... so I am hoping for someone out there that has had a similar situation that might give me some advice.
In my brooder, I have 3 3 week old Australorps and 6 week old chicks .... for the last few days, when I or anyone else puts their hand in the brooder, one of the 3 week old's runs over and looks like she is going to attack. She came up to me earlier today the same way and I just kept my hand there and she just looked at it ... I picked up some food and she pecked it out of my hand ... so I was thinking a very friendly girl ...
Tonight I was getting the food jar out of the brooder and she ran over to me ... I held my hand out again and she bit me ... now it didn't hurt, but I was like, "What the heck!" So I thought I would pick her up and she FREAKED!!!
I held her for 30 seconds or so and she fought it with everything she had! Screaming, kicking, flapping ....
I picked up another 3 week old and she was normal .... but this one I am expecting anyday to see her head spin 360 degrees and spit green puke
and speak in a deep voice
My plan is to pick her up everyday and feed her goodies .... if she doesn't stop with the actions, I am going toseperate her, feed her a high protein diet for a few weeks and eat her
Thoughts?
