3 week old Roo ruling the roost

Ever had a 3 week old chick ruling the roost? We are new to raising chicks. Our pullet flock of 4 each Isa Brown, NovoGen Brown & Easter Color Pack have been growing so fast. Turns out one is a Rooster. How do we know or at least think so? One of the Red sexlink chick’s legs and body is a 1/3 bigger than his siblings. They were all the same size at 2 days old. He is growing a very distinct red comb and already breaking up spats between his sisters! He taken up ownership of the flock. I don’t know if this is normal or not, but he’s hilarious to watch. We call him Big Bird after Sesame Street TV show. Anyone else seen this at such an early age? See him on the right top looking at the camera?

hes so handsome! DEFENITLY a roo. around a year ago my brother was rasing chicks for a science project and 3 of them were roos, and they didnt have that big of a crown till 5 weeks! all of your baby chooks are so cute! (but your little roo is so pretty)

He definitely looks like he has a 'tude! Super cute. I haven't learned how to tell if they are roosters or hens yet. I have babies who act like they rule the flock one day and the next it is another chick ruling the coop.

Yep, he’s got a big ‘tude! He’s gentle and loves attention though not a fan of being held!
