History:
December 2012: My two 3-year-old hens stopped laying. Did fine all winter & spring, but no eggs.
Mar. 15, 2013: Got 3 new baby chicks from Orscheln's. Kept indoors & separate from 3yo's until end of May. Two were roosters, so only kept one of these -- she's now 3 months old.
May 27: Found one 3yo dead in coop, bright red & messy around vent.
June 3: Got three 6-wk-old pullets from an experienced local poultry raiser & shower. They are sleeping separately from the 3yo & 3-month-old, but ranging in the yard with them during the day. Seem very healthy & active.
Yesterday (June 12): Noticed my remaining 3yo was rather lethargic.
Today (June 13): 3 yo still lethargic & noticed she's occasionally twitching her neck. When I turned her over to look at her vent area, she regurgitated some clear liquid. Her crop feels soft. Her poops are quite liquid. Other than that, she looks completely normal. I brought her in the house because it's suddenly gotten quite hot here (Kansas) the last couple days (after a long cool spring). She's just standing & dozing next to me. All 4 of the younger pullets are active & seem healthy.
Any idea what could be wrong with my 3yo? Or what I could do for her?
Thanks in advance!
Greta
