30 eggs fully developed 8 hatched

I've been hatching eggs for 20 years now and I never had such a bad hatch from my own eggs. I put 30 eggs into lockdown all where alive and had movement but only 8 hatched. Any ideas why? I'm using an old little giant incubator with fan for lockdown.

Do you candle? How was the air cell size? Did you do eggtopsys?

I candle at 7 14 and at lockdown everything looked good and yes all of them had developed and absorbed the yolk

Did they internally pip or never break the membrane?

Never broke the membrane

Was there any liquid around the chicks? They could have drowned with excess fluid.
I’m sorry this happened, it’s been a rough year of hatching for me too.

No fluid I think it was just one of those things that happen without an explanation. I got 100 eggs in now hopefully it will be a better hatch this time
