30 week old hen laying huge eggs.

I have a 30 week old barred rock. She is hatchery stock. She is laying these HUGE eggs. I do not have a scale so I am not sure the exact oz. but I can say they have a hard time fitting or not fitting in a standard egg crate. They are not double yolkers either. She seems to lay them almost every day too.

I am worried about her. I thought she was too young to be laying eggs of this size? Is this affecting her health and is there anything I can do to help her?

When they are young, their egg laying can be a bit out of whack. I expect she will even out to lay normal sized eggs eventually.

Maybe you are feeding her too much protein. That causes jumbo eggs with one yolk. Maybe reduce the protein content in your food for a bit and see what happens
