Oh yes, they can be a real threat to your flock, all cuteness aside.

I'm sorry about your chicks!

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but rather than being done with puppies you should make sure the puppies don't have access to the chicks. They are puppies, doing what puppies do....it's not their fault you aren't keeping them seperated.

If you have chickens all dogs should be contained no matter how far in the country you live or how well trained you think your dog is, dogs are hunters and puppies need to be trained and contained whether you plan on getting them homes or not. I'm sorry but that is the reality of it. Don't blame the pups.

Oh, I am so sorry. Is this your first time having dogs? Even the sweetest, most well trained dog in the world cam become unpredictable with such a tempting target. Puppies are even worse, because they haven't had time to be trained.

Reinforce your coop, pen the pups and give them away, and get the Mama dog spayed.

Those puppies are just folowing instincts, they are not born knowing human rules. They have to be taught and you can't expect them to understand overnight. At best, an adult dog is similar in maturity or intelligence as a 3 year old child. Would you say that a child of that age is bad if it were to do something like that? Hopefully not. Dogs learn best with reptition and positive re-enforcement. They don't understand that your chicks are any different from a squeaky toy at this point. Please don't be angry with them for being puppies. You must be patient and gentle in order to train them to be confident and balanced adult dogs.
