Need some advice! I have 5 hens and 1 rooster. They will be 30 weeks old on Wednesday.
All are Rhode Island Reds. A couple of weeks ago 2 were laying eggs. Now it’s only 1.

I’m giving them Grubbly Farms layer feed and giving them crushed oysters (which they don’t care for)

It's good to keep the crushed oyster out anyway, as if they need it, they'll eat it; otherwise, they usually don't.

Could it be an early molt going on? I know here in WI, we had some scorching weather last week, but then this week it's so cold the furnace kicked in. Ours have been a bit sporadic the past week or two as well. I have one molting but she's the only one for whatever reason.

I don’t see any of the molting. I wonder if it was too hot this summer. It was brutally hot for a while. The weather is finally better now in the 80’s.

That’s a good idea, I’ll leave the oysters out

Thank You
