4 chickens now 2 chickens

My flock is now down to 2 chickens. I want to get 2 more. With such a small flock I am wondering the best way to introduce 2 new hens. I am inclinded to get two pullets around 5 months old. The other birds are 15 months.

Full grown or almost full grown is good...
quarantine...
when time comes to combine put them someplace where they can see each other but not actually get together for several days/week...
if you free range, that is the best time to get them together or, if not, place new girls in the coop in the dark of night... in the morning it's like, "Oh, hey, didn't see ya' there... how ya' doin'."

Watch out for chicken math... 2 becomes 4... 4 becomes 8... 20...34... etc... etc...
