4-day-old chicks - can I feed them organic buckwheat groats? raw, cooked?

Hi! I am getting moved into our new place and unpacking boxes, and have a small bag of unused Bob's Red Mill organic buckwheat groats. I don't think they are necessarily raw, so I don't think they'll sprout, but I am wondering if I can mix them into the chick starter that I have, or if I can cook it / soak it, and then mix it in, just to use it up and give them some variety? I have maybe 16 ounces of it, and 35 baby chicks.

I also have another dozen+ chicks that are 4-weeks old. Maybe this would be more appropriate for them? Again, as a supplement or mixed-in with their regular organic chick starter.

THANKS!
