OK, I know it occasionally happens, but I've always a bit dubious when people post about more than one egg per hen per day. If I hadn't been collecting the eggs myself (3 a day for the last week like clockwork), I'm not sure I would have believed it. This afternoon around 2, I noticed my BR Artemis in the nest box later than usual, and when I went to the box an hour later there were 4 eggs. I've only got 3 hens who are all 1 year old today. I'm sure all three girls laid yesterday as I gather in the afternoon, and there were 3 there. Either she laid a 2nd one late last night, or laid a 2nd today. All were normal-sized, and I'm sure the dinner frittata will be scrumptious!
