So 4 of these strange bird showed up on the otherside of the fence next to my chicken coop. I dont know why they chose us but I opened the gate to see if the rooster would call them in. I dont even know if it works that way. Is this normal and if they come and join the family will it work out? Thanks just need some guidance plus I dont know if someone is missing them.

Hope you all can help.

I just kept my chickens and rooster in the coop to lure (spelling?) them in so that I can maybe find their home or at least isolate them til we can keep them safe. They look healthy I just dont know where they came from and the wont leave but wont come in the fence either crazy birds.... they are hanging out with the horses while we speak... got to love it. I dont know if they are male or female but they sure are loud

I have cochins and I am scared to mix them so I am kind of lost... but taking a step at a time them need to get in the yard first haha

Yeah that is is they are pearls... their are hawks swarming them... is there anything I can do to get them in the safe fence with the rooster... my rooster is a bug guy hawks dont even dare mess with him... haha

Try this....

Shake a scoop of scratch (or whatever poultry food you have) and call to them to get their attention. Let them see you toss a little bit of food out on the ground, then back up. If they come running, back up a little farther and toss a little more food out and if it's working continue doing this until you have them where you want them. Letting them see and hear you feed your chickens might help coax them into your yard too. Having someone slowly walking up behind them while you are coaxing them in might encourage them to move forward too, but it might also cause them to take flight. Guineas are very cautious and paranoid of everything. Keep in mind if you are coaxing them into an outdoor pen or yard that is not covered with wire... they will just fly out.

Good luck, hope you get them in
