4 month old silkie

hello,
i stated my silkie on amixture of cracked corn and layer crumble. i would think by now if it was rooster that it would be crowing and has no sign of a comb forming so did i do the right thing?????????

Most folks use chick starter or gamebird crumbles for their chicks, but the layer crumbles or pellets are fine at her current age.

im not sure if it is a roo or not and if it does turn out to be one will it hurt if i do this mixture?!
