This is Nugget, the runt of my 2023 starter flock.

I'm pretty sure it's a rooster based on how light the feathers are. Like, this chick is white compared to the other chicks that have a barred feather pattern.

But I'm not sure if it's a plymouth rock, or something else.

What breed do you think Nugget is?

Thanks for your help.

He's a cockerel for sure. Also a Barred Rock.

I am not an expert, but it looks like my Barred Rock Rooster did at that age.
Really? That's great.

I love it. The feathering is such a lovely color.

He's still the runt. All the hens are bigger than he is. I put in a fair amount of work to keep him alive.

The flock wasn't letting him eat, so I put out 2 or 3 feeding dishes. They would step on him when he attempted to sleep, so I sacrificed my space heating and used that to heat their brooder so I could turn off the heat lamp.

Oddly enough (or maybe normal), he doesn't like it when I attempt to give a belly/chest rub. Guess he's wary of me because he did not like that I had to handle him a fair amount to check for pasty butt.

My rooster turned out to be a handsome and gentle gentleman. I wish you the same luck.
