Not sure if your willing but maybe perhaps probing her vent and feel for the growth on the inside so you know where it presses. If you can't feet much on the inside there might a be a good shot it won't block her up...These are all guesses of course and to know for sure we must wait till she lays. What a pickle...

I do suggest feeling on the inside though.

Its solid like a rock, with no give at all. Even though her vent isnt blocked, and she is pooping, part her vent opening is actually on the side of the growth. The growth is putting some pressure on her vent, and after checking the vent of a few other chicks, it almost looks like hers stays open. I will try to get another picture posted up tonight. There is not much difference from the first picture though.

My daughter thought I was really weird when I smelled it to check for infection-I cant want to see her reaction when I tell her I'm "going in"

She will be 5 weeks old on Monday, so I still have a while until she starts laying-even then, I have 20 pullets, it might be hard to determine who is laying which eggs!
