4 week old chick looks sick

See mine didn't do it til this year. Weird.

As for the temp, well good as that's a simple fix and a very common one. Do NOT beat yourself up or.... I'll get bossy.

On the feathers, I wouldn't worry about it really. THey'll be replacing them in no time.

Just make sure they don't have any mites or lice on them just in case. But weird about the feathers.

Thanks, I'm a little disappointed as on of the chicks was the lone EE and the other was a light Brahma that the hatchery threw in as the extra bonus. The Brahma had really caught my eye and was my favorite

. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.

I seem to be hearing about a lot of issues in light Brahmas this year. They're all hatchery birds. I wonder if there's a connection, maybe a weak line too inbred or something?

Or maybe a breed characteristic? I always found our light brahma to be very hardy.

I'm sorry you lost the onesies.

Maybe you can get another couple next year?

The Brahma never really took off. It always looked smaller, and was docile, often off by itself. But she did have a sweet disposition.

I have one unidentified chick that came in the batch. It looks like the EE that died ( or its the EE and the unidentified chick died) Anyway, they resembled each other but weren't perfect matches. I'll try to get a picture of her and post it. Maybe we can figure it out.
