I have 16 ducks, any loss would be heartbreaking for me. They do free range during the day inside fencing but night time when we are all inside including the dogs my flock is locked up tight.

Just take these ideas an fortify your run if you use hardware wire top sides and under or skirting you’ll be very safe from predators. @DuckyDonna is right now making a run fortified in hardware cloth.

It would be heartbreaking if I lost any of mine too, but I do know that predators are every where no matter what location you're in. I've lost chickens to snakes and hawks, it never gets easier but I do get smarter each time with my predator proofing.

Same here snake an hawk and I don’t know what got my last little OEGB hen it’s def the price we pay for letting them live as normal a life as possible. And trying to keep them as safe as possible too.
