40 degree and the 9 weekers wont go back to their brooder.....

Im sure they will be fine, they are fully feathered. They were hatched and raised by mama outside. They have been out for about a week, but it was a bit warmer. Today is raining and 40, windy too. I tried to put them back in the brooder but they put up such a fuss...i am such a sap.
 
Were they raised by a broody? If so they should have been taught what to do. Just keep an eye on them and they should be all right!

I'm learning chicks are pretty smart about what they need.

It took me a bit to figure that out. Mine are four weeks old and were running around this morning in forty degrees. When they got too cold they went back in.
At nine weeks, yours should be plenty able to figure out what they need.
