I have 10 5-week old keets that have been living in a brooder in my insulated tack room in my barn. I moved them into a big, heavy duty plastic shed today that I hope will eventually be the place they return to for roosting at night. It is vented and they have a 16x24 heat plate. It’s going into the high 40’s tonight. Will they be okay with just the heat plate or should I put a space heater in there? It’s the type that turns off if it falls over.

Glad you posted this! I just moved my 4 weeks old outside with their heat palte into a wooden coop I built. I plan on providing heat for at least another week. Let us know when you turn your heat off, and how it goes! @Nash37212

It’s been pretty consistently in the 50s overnight for the past week, so I turned it off a few days ago. They’re 8 weeks old today. Had some VERY cold weather at night last week, 3 nights in the 30s and they did just fine (with the heat plate at the time)!
