Hello, please forgive me if there has already been a post about this but I haven't been able to find the help I need in any of the threads.

I got 2- 4.5 month old Easter eggers from my local feed store about 3 weeks ago. One of them ended up dying 3 days later. I'm not sure from what but I separated her immediately when I noticed she wasn't acting right. I cleaned and disinfected everything after she died, just to be on the safe side.

The other one had a bald back end but her feathers started growing in nicely. A few days after the other one died, I got 2 blue australorpes from the same place. They have been picking at the Easter egger since they got here. About 4 days ago, I realized that her tail wasn't doing well. I inspected her and found a mess where her tail should be. I'm not good with describing exactly what is wrong but it's either her oil glands or the new feathers growing in. **see pictures for more detail

I'm keeping her separate from the other hens, spraying vetericyn and banixx 3 times a day. She is inside at night. I've let her out with the other hens for a bit but with supervision. Apparently I missed one of them getting her today. She runs away and makes a very loud, "get the hell away from me' sound when any of the hens get near her tail. This is the first time I've seen blood. What should I do?

I'd keep treating it like you are doing.

The blood looks like it's from a broken blood feather.

Introducing new birds to one another can be a challenge. You'll want to wait until she's healed and feathered out before trying to re-introduce her.

Should I keep her inside or outside?
