So I just wanted to start off by saying I’m heart broken . My husband and I built what we thought was the safest coop ever … long story short the chicks 5-6 week old got out of the chicken coop and then the fence. Though we’ve had sightings there’s 2 babies out there somewhere … what do we do to get them home? Will they come back on their own? They had been in the coop for 3 days

Oh honey, I'm so sorry.

It is very unlikely they will come in on their own. It is far more likely some predator will get them in the woods.

You can try putting out food and treats on the perimeter to draw them in and catch them.

But at that young age, with no attachment to the coop, they have literally flown the coop.

Stay outside for the rest of the evening and watch for the other one. If it hears your other chick, or any familiar sounds around your home, it's more likely to come back.
i did this and actually set out a light and my phone on a speaker with chickens … it just came home … I can breathe for the first time in 8 hours. Thank you

That is WONDERFUL! So many times, these situations don't have happy endings. So glad yours did!
