5 day old chick hanging head/eyes closed, suggestions?

We just lost a few with the same behaviors as yours. All the rest seem to be perfectly fine and not developing the same symptoms. Everyone I asked really didn't have any solid advice for bringing them back and it just seemed to be something that happens.

it ended up being a bacterial infection from the umbilical cord. never had that happen, unfortunate but now i know for future and now i also know it isn't an infection that i had to worry about with the the other babies. they are all doing fine.

Our vet said it happens when a piece of umbilical cord is still hanging and the infection goes through and of course right into the body. You can clean the cord with a betadine solution but i honestly don't remember seeing this on this chick. She said if the chicks belly is very hard or also too mushy, they didnt' absorb everything properly and this can happen. They can be given antibiotics but it would have to be immediately to even have any effect. this chick was 5 days old.
