I have 13 regular chicks, and my 2 silkies hatched today. They have a little bloody navel going on. When I put one silkie in the brooder... they all bombarded it!!!!!!!! Poor thing, I've moved it back into the bator for now until I figure out a way to get them all to get along! They were pecking at his toes, beak, back, and underbelly.

Is it possible to have them all leave the little ones along?

All my babies are differnt ages, and when i put my banties in the brooder with the older chicks they pecked for a little while tell they got use to each other.

OK THANKS... I think I'll try again tomorrow morning. I just got a little nervous with the bloody navels... but I think they'll calm down.

If you want dead babies I would say mix them. We have not had a great deal of success in mixing days unless they are week or older, then still need to be close in ages. Seems the little ones end up getting stepped on or pecked or trampled. Depends really on how many you have and how much time you have to sit and watch....:|
