Ok so my BR's are about 24 weeks old and they started laying. YAY! Sunday I got 5 eggs (8 ladies). Yesterday I found 2 (one of them decided to be dumb and lay while she was on her roosting post and it smashed when it hit the ground). This morning I found nothing. What's going on? They aren't eating them or something are they?

New layers can be really erratic in their laying patterns. A day or two between is not unusual.

When they first start laying their will be some days they won't lay. Even when their older you'll have days of some laying some won't .

Good. I wasn't sure. I just didn't expect to find nothing this morning.

They are SLACKERS! Show them freezer camp.Eggs will be pouring out of them after that.

Some people have steady days and the numbers are pretty much the same. Others have staggered egg days. I 'm one that has staggered egg days. I have 80 laying hens and I will pick anywhere from 55 - 70 eggs a days. It just depends what kinda mood the girls are in. I also have some girls that are 3+ years old, so they don't lay every day. I don't fuss at the girls too much about it. As long as they are happy, then that's all that matters.
