5 Month Old Phyllis and new Show Girl Chick hatched 2/27/09

Ever wanted to know what a week old Show Girl and a 5 month Show Girl look like together? Here they are.

cute, in an odd sort of way. I've always wondered, do silkie-type feathers have the insulation and weather-proof quality of regular feathers? Also, with so much exposed skin, how do showgirls do in NY winters?

Yes, I've learned in general that chickens are nearly as fragile as one might think. I'm always amazed at their resilience.

Phyllis is such a great name. I was reading a different thread recently where you mentioned her and I was wondering what she looked like. When I saw you posted a picture of her, I just had to check it out. What a beauty! That little chick is a real cutie, too. I am so jealous!
