Hi! I have 2 ducks and 4 Sex Links that have been raised together since, well since I got them at 2 weeks old. They are all now about 5 months old. We got them strictly for the eggs.
A friend of mine has 5 silkies (we don't know if they are male or female but we are thinking there is a roo in the mix), and she wants to give them to me. They are also about 4 months old.
I am wondering would I have to put them in a separate area with their own coop or could they co-mingle? I don't have a run for my ducks or ladies, they have free run of my back yard. I have 1/2 acre in town so its fenced in very well.
And if they do get along well, can sex links and Silkie males breed??
Sorry really new to this, and I am trying to take this one step at a time. That's why I just have females..lol I know nothing about breeding chickens or incubating eggs.. lol
