5 week buff Orpington hen or roo?

I agree, that is a large comb, and it's probably a cockerel. You never know, though. I had two Buff Orpingtons (same hatch) that looked nothing alike and I was pretty sure one was a cockerel, but they're both laying hens!

The comb doesn't worry me at all. It's not huge and is quite pale. Are those wattles really that red though?

Very young, but already showing reddening which is a trait of cockerels

Thanks everyone. Luckily there are no laws here about keeping cockerels but I don’t want to be ‘that neighbour’ so let’s hope he’s a well behaved one!!

Definitely agree! Comb doesn't give much away. The face was cockerel so I was confused, only looked at the wattles when I saw your comment.
