I have 2 barred rock. They are both pretty dark. But one of them has a larger comb... These pictures are of the same chick and it is 5 weeks old

I'm not sure. The comb and wattles look like those of a male, but the coloring is definitely female. I'd guess female. Thank you! I was also looking around, could it be a cackoo maran?
I agreeWith a comb/wattles that red at that age, I'm going to say cockerel. Though I do agree that the coloring is pullet-y. And it is possible that it is a Cuckoo Marans instead of a Barred Rock, but can't tell for sure.
I got them from a feed store. But the feed store ordered them from ideal poultry. I'm kinda concerned because I just noticed both of the barred rocks or cuckoo marans have very very very small wattles. I can pm you better light pictures with full body in it?Cuckoo Marans do not have yellow legs.
The photos were shot in deep shade. This makes it more difficult to truly judge the feathering on bird. Further, while you didn't say, are we to assume the source of the chicks was……. feed store? Hatchery?
