My luck is… well, I have no luck I feel these days. This year with buying “sexed” chicks has been a big no-go.. bought from hatchery’s and still don’t have luck with buying “pullets. Last year I bought 50 chicks and 10 were straight run and still had all pullets except 1, very impressive. This year however, 40 chicks later and 11 have been boys. (With a remaining possible 2)…

Exhibit 1:
5 week old buff cochin
First photo, “it” is in the back.

'It' may very well be a cockerel.
That’s what I figured, no surprise to me there!
:barnie

However, I also bought a group of Bantam cochin’s from my “breeder” and they are now 4 weeks old (tomorrow), they were supposed to be pullets, but combs are starting to show and one has little wattles peeking out.
Rather confused with these little ones because my blue cochin didn’t have ANY comb or wattles until 8-10 weeks, and she Has the tiniest comb ever currently at 13 weeks.
