These welbar chicks are about 5 weeks old now & got them both out of the same bin at the store. Are they both the same breed since it looks like one has a darker head than the other? Everything else is pretty much the same with them except one who has a red comb already. If anyone has info on this breed please let me know it’s been so hard to find any pictures or info online to help me

They do both look like Welbars; color varies a bit from chick to chick. The one with the red comb could be a cockerel, but the pattern looks female so far.

The one with the red comb was this dark coloring when I got her, she’s the dark little one in this photo. Is it still possible for it to be a male based on that?

She should be a pullet based on that photo. :) Males are lighter in color and don't have the chipmunk stripes.
