Probably Australorp. Noir Marans is another possibility.
Do you think it could be a black jersey giant? They don’t have some of their breeds listed anymore. Does it seem too small for a Jersey? I don’t have experience with the breed.

But I never considered any of their marans, though.

Possibly. Check the feet under the feet. If it is white or pinkish white, then Australorp. If it is yellowish, then JG. The toes look white to me so I assumed it wasn't a JG, but photos can be misleading for color.

I overlooked skin color, but I did take a picture of its feet. It does look a pinkish white, so JG is out of the equation, yeah?

Australorp. They're more common so more likely to be given as an extra, and Marans usually have some leg feathers.
Ah, bummer. I have a black australorp. I was hoping it was going to be something I didn’t have yet. Oh well, I still like the breed. Anyways, I suppose it’ll be even clearer once it gets older

Yep, things will become clearer with age. Australorps are a great breed in any case. Great layers, good personalities is my experience with them.
