5 wk old chick has swollen underside and thighs

My 5 wk old chick was chased by a cat two days ago and went missing for a few hours. We found it later stuck in a bucket. The next day its whole underside was swollen including abdomen, thighs, crop area and shoulder area. It had no evidence of bleeding or puncture wound from a cat. I don't know if the cat played with it and dropped it in the bucket, or if it fell into the bucket and got away from the cat. The chick acts like the rest of the chicks--not in pain or anything--it scratches and eats and drinks like the rest. It just waddles and has a hard time moving around the swelling. I can't afford to take it to a vet but I don't really know what to do. I tried separating her from my other two chicks but it made all three of them so miserable that I put them back together. I don't think it's sour crop because the swelling is so widespread, and is more on the right side of the body. I'm not sure if there is any internal bleeding because it's a black chick (barred rock) and it's not acting like it's in pain (although it doesn't like to be picked up). Any advice on what I should do?

What did bucket have in it before the chick did it could got into something while being chased my chicks got attacked by cat and they never had reaction like that but if it acts fine it will be ok

I have no idea what was in it. It was in my next door neighbor's yard and he sort of collects all kinds of strange things. There is also a notice on his door from the health department saying the home (a trailer) may have chemical contamination so anything goes.

I found a neighbor who has experience with chickens (and cats). He says the chick probably has an infection from cat bites, but it looks like it is fighting it off well because it isn't acting sick, so just use every antibacterial tool I can find and wait it out. I hope she can pull through.

I glade he will pull thought it and you mit have call city and ask what they mean by that sign and what contamed the house
