Hello everyone!

About 5 days ago, I noticed that one of my hens is missing most of the feathers from around her cloaca area and just underneath (or the feathers seem to have been sheared off), the color of the skin underneath is hot pink, she seems a little bloated in that area and her cloaca is leaking a thick white fluid which I cannot tell if it is pus or just runny-er poop. I thought she may be egg bound and I have been soaking her in warm water every day and keeping her in a warm dark place away from our other chickens but she has not expelled anything but poop. Also when she is sitting or a little compressed she seems to gurgle a little while breathing.

She is acting entirely normal except for the above details. Running around, eating, drinking. I did notice a few weeks ago that she was missing a few feathers from her backside but we had an incident where the wind was so strong it bent our run door open and the chickens got out into the yard so I assumed an animal may have taken some of her feathers during that time.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I have attached the best picture I could get of her backside.
Thank you!

When is the last time she laid an egg?

Check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight.
Any bad yeasty odor from the discharge? If so, then likely Vent Gleet.
If not, then likely urates which can irritate the skin and turn it red, apply a little NuStock cream or Hen Healer to the skin under the vent.

The swelling or bloat below the vent between her legs may be signs of reproductive issues, maybe some fluid, cancer, etc. If she's eating/drinking/active, then I would monitor her, just making sure she's not getting lice/mites, that her crop is emptying, stay on top of deworming, etc.
