55 gallon barrel - strawberry planter?

Are strawberry pots not a universal thing?? :idunno I always thought they were.

Apart from making the holes a little larger, if you can bend the plastic outwards at the bottom of each hole (I'm thinking heat may need to be involved) then it will look a lot like the old fashioned strawberry pots. It may just be a result of the manufacturing process so may be unnecessary, but I think it's probably a design feature to support the plants.

Can't see a reason it wouldn't work, unless the drum was used for something nasty in the past.
Eta: not my picture, came from Google

I had a strawberry pot like that, but on a smaller scale. It worked great. I filled it with dirt, and poked my runners i through the holes on the side and they took off. This year I have strawberries in a huge plastic tub with holes drilled in the bottom, and some in the ground.
