I have 16 week old gems, 1 pullet and 2 roos. I really think it's a pullet. Someone told me that in addition to the barring and redder combs/wattles- roos have the yellow around the eyes, and yellow legs/feet. It seems true in all the pics I looked at one here! You can search my thread and look at my 3, I think it's a pullet for sure!

Barring? Weird juvenile feathers that will molt out and leave typical pullet feathers? Idk, but these and that comb are why I'm leaning cockerel but with absolutely no certainty. My two barred birds (legbar and legbar based olive egger) has significantly less obvious barring at that age. Even now at 16, almost 17, weeks it's easy to miss at a quick glance

Not barring. Think of them as growth rings, or uneven speed the feathers grew out at. I see this in blue chickens quite often.
