6 Chickens 5 Eggs

I have six hens and acquired then in early june when they were about 16 weeks old. Each day I get 5 eggs so I assume one is not laying at all. Is it possible for a chincken to never lay eggs, or is one of the hens just not up to laying yet. They all look healthy, so I am not concerned that one is sick. I was just wondering if I have one dead layer. Any help is appretiated.

Most hens don't lay every single day so odds are all of your hens are laying and your average is 5 eggs a day. There are some hens that take longer to mature though so it's possible you have one not laying. What breeds do you have?

They are probably all laying, just some are not laying every day. At least that's what I've been told. I have 4 hens and have never gotten 4 eggs a day. As a matter of fact right now I get 1 egg every other day!!! I think mine are molting or something. I would be very happy with 5 eggs a day!
