Pullets can be glitchy for a while and 5 weeks isn't that long. She sounds like she lays fairly frequently too?

I'd probably go back to every other day for now, knowing she'll may have some thin or off eggs, and keep her at that for maybe 3-4 weeks so you have a good long period to see results. If she's mostly consistent at the end of that time, then I'd try maybe 2 weeks with every third day, and so on. The hope is that she can be weaned off the supplements at some point because yes you don't want to be giving her high doses of calcium, but you don't want her straining to pass soft eggs or having them break inside her either.

Final update: Elsie has not laid an abnormal egg since october 9th. I kept her on calcium every other day for 2 more week afterwards. she is fine. thank you for your help.
