6 month old molting

Is this even possible ? My gorgeous RIR 6 month old hen started suddenly dropping feathers today..she's healthy otherwise What's up? She takes a daily dust bath. She gets greens and a varied diet including laying mash and scratch too .. I'm so concerned.

This year was the first time i`ve ever had pullets molt. Been raising them just like I always have but this year is Molt Fest here.

Yep it happens. I noticed today that one of my Easter chicks is molting. She’s never laid an egg. And the same thing happened to me last year.

My pullets molted this year, and last year those pullets did too. Stopped laying too.

It is possible your chicken is molting, but if you want you can post some pictures of her here up close, just to be certain.
Also, if she is molting, you will see pin feathers growing where the other feathers are falling out. It is the growth of the pin feathers that pushes out the existing ones so you will be able to see them if you take a look. Best wishes!
