I am picking up a 6 week old cockerel tomorrow. I am brooding 13 chicks (supposedly all female according to the hatchery). When can I introduce them to each other. I don't really want to wait 12 weeks for them all to be fully grown. I also have the ability to partition. My coop but allow them to see each other through chicken wire. In the past I have introduced 6 week old pullet to my full grown flock with almost no issues, but this cockerel is not full grown at 6 weeks.

My plan was to move the the 1 week Olds to the coop at 3 weeks of age and brood them in there so they can see each other and at week 4 let them intermingle. So then we would have 4 week old pullet with a 9 week old cockerel.

Does this sound good or is my plan flawed?

If it makes any difference... The cock is a blue andalusian

Chicks are:

Sussex

Penenesenca
2 - Welsummer
2 - Leghorn
