6 week old pullet, I hope?

Hatchety stock can be quite "smutty"....I have three 9 week olds right now and one is even more poorly marked than this bird

Yes, i suppose that's probably the case. It's sad that hatcheries don't work harder to have quality birds that meet the standard, at least in color.
