Hi All!
I have four 6 week old silkies. I know they can be difficult to sex and DNA testing is generally recommended for early sexing. But I know there are some, like me, who still like the play the game: hen or roo. šŸ˜‚

They’re all very squirrelly, making photo shoots difficult. But, for everyone’s entertainment, here are a few ā€œbetterā€ pictures of my babies. Enjoy!

The one in the second photo is looking like a cockerel, going by comb. The others look to be females, so far. But it is too early to be sure.
Curious. What has you thinking hen for the rest? I have been leaning cockerel for almost everyone. šŸ˜‚

I'm looking at the combs alone. There's not much else to go by at that early an age. Silkies take a long time to tell gender. I'm not saying the rest are females, just that the bird in picture 2 looks like an obvious cockerel to me.

Gotcha. Well, it will be interesting to see how they all turn out. :)
